On December 24, 2024, the Rockey Africa Foundation, in partnership with Jabali Joycare, hosted a special Elderly’s Day Out at Thika Greens Golf Course to honour and uplift senior citizens just in time for the festive season. Over 100 elderly residents from Thika enjoyed a day of wellness, community, and celebration.
The event featured free health checkups, light exercise, traditional music, storytelling, and interactive games. Attendees also received personalised care packages and shared a communal lunch, creating a warm and joyful atmosphere.
Rockey Africa CEO Robert Kamau highlighted the foundation’s goal of making the elderly feel appreciated: “Spending the day with them was a privilege, spreading joy and creating moments they’ll remember for years.” Jabali Joycare founder Joyce Jabali added that the event was a tribute to the wisdom and legacy of elders in the community.
The day ended with heartfelt appreciation from participants, including 78-year-old Mzee John, who said, “It feels wonderful to be celebrated like this.”
This initiative is part of the Rockey Africa Foundation’s ongoing commitment to community impact, showing how compassion and collaboration can make a meaningful difference.
